The script patches only the achievement-related mod checks in the ARM64 game executable. It does not disable mod detection globally.
Before modifying the game, the script verifies the expected instruction bytes at all patch locations. If they do not match, the script refuses to continue.
A backup of the original executable is created next to the patch script before the first modification.
## Installation
1. Download and extract the archive.
2. Quit Baldur's Gate 3 completely.
3. Open Finder and locate the extracted folder containing:
bg3-achievements-patch.sh
4. Open Terminal at that folder.
The easiest way:
- In Finder, right-click the extracted folder itself.
- Choose Services → New Terminal at Folder.
5. Make the script executable:
chmod +x bg3-achievements-patch.sh
You only need to do this once.
6. Check whether your game build is supported:
./bg3-achievements-patch.sh status
The script automatically detects a supported Steam or GOG installation.
For an unpatched supported build, you should see:

Patch: UNKNOWN BUILD / BYTES
do not continue. Your game build is not currently supported.
7. Enable achievements with mods:
./bg3-achievements-patch.sh on
8. If everything succeeds, the script will finish with:
Achievement patch: ON
You can then launch Baldur's Gate 3 normally.
## Check patch status
At any time, run:
./bg3-achievements-patch.sh status
A successfully patched game should show:
To disable the patch and restore the original three instructions:
./bg3-achievements-patch.sh off
This keeps the full executable backup created during the first patch.
## Restore original executable
To restore the complete original executable from the backup:
./bg3-achievements-patch.sh restore
The backup is stored in the same folder as `bg3-achievements-patch.sh`.
