📋 About This Mod
Description
This mod consists of 3 things. First is the Animated Desk skin themed around twitch emotes typically seen in twitch streamer Jabroni_Mike's chat. This mod uses Aura as a prerequisite as most of the cards are made of two different emotes combined, most of which have their own frame rate.
Second is a template file that you can use to make your own Animated Desk skins with the Aura mod.
Third is a tool I vibe coded with claude.ai that allows you to input two different animation files and create your own textures that will animated with different framerates. There are two versions of the tool. The first is the one that only adds in animated textures, the second has the ability to add in static images that would be present on all of the cards textures. Script 12 is the untested on, script 11 is the tested one.
Please note: I have not tested what the 1x sized textures look like. I'm not sure how to get them to show up in game. I used a pillow script to resize the 2x down to 1x, but the mod ran fine without them being, likewise the script to generate cards only generates in 2x size
Installation instructions
For the desk skin:
Extract the archive to your \AppData\Roaming\Balatro\Mods folder and enable in game
For the template:
Extract the archive to your \AppData\Roaming\Balatro\Mods folder. Open the .lua in a text editor and change the name of the template as your wish. Then either create images that match the names in the mod in the 1x and 2x folder in the assets folder, or change the names of the images to the images that you already have. Adjust the frames per row, vert frames, and fps values accordingly. There are more detailed instructions in the template file itself.
For the Tool:
Open either of the python scripts. Use the GUI to select the horizontal image and the vertical image if you are making it bi directional.
Then use the Add Placement button to open the add placement window.
From there you will select if you are placing from the horizontal, vertical, or if you are adding a static image. Set the X and Y position to the location you want the top left corner of the image to be placed. You can use the resize button to resize the image you are adding and can use the resampling method drop down to select what resizing algorithm to use. It provides an overview of each methods. Then click save to add a placement.
Next you can use the move layer buttons to move the layer up and down.
You can use the save config and load config buttons to save or load a config file that will have all your placements and images saved to it. This is useful as you can change the images after loading a config but the location and size will be the same which is great or the cards with pip as the location and size of pips will be the same ac
