Irish Balatro translation (as Gaeilge)

Fáilte! Are you ready to bet your life away in the beautiful Irish language? I sure am!

This is a project that I decided to undertake in order to provide more spaces for Gaeilge in popular media :)

In addition to the translated game text, my friend Netteloise was kind enough to also provide retextured cards and blinds to show their new Irish names. They look super well-made, and I can't thank her enough!

Present files and installation instructions

To add and change files directly in the game's archive, you can use software such as 7-Zip to do the following from your Steam game library, Balatro (right click) > Manage > Browse local files then within File Explorer, Balatro.exe (right click) > Show more options > 7-Zip > Open archive

The modded game.lua should go into the archive's root, while ga.lua should be added into the Localization folder. If you want to add the Irish textures, all of these should overwrite their respective .png files found in Resources > Textures > 2x

For full clarity, these are all the files found in the .zip and what they do:

ga.lua

This is the file containing the translated text itself.

game.lua

This file has been edited to show Gaeilge as an available option in the language menu (replaces Italian).

BlindChips.png

Shows the Irish names for the Small Blind and Big Blind chips.

boosters.png

Shows the Irish names for all Booster Packs (Standard, Buffoon, Arcana, Celestial, and Spectral).

ShopSignAnimation.png

Changes the "Shop" animated sign to instead say "Siopa"

Tarots.png

Shows the Irish names for all Tarot, Planet, and Spectral cards.

Vouchers.png

Replaces "Voucher" text on all Voucher sprites with the Irish "Dearbhán"

If you wish to restore the genuine versions of the replaced files, go to your Steam game library, Balatro (right click) > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files
