📋 About This Mod

The cutscene headgear mod with new options, read the description about adding new option if you want. Deeply appreciate for the fix made by KainPrimus!

The mod now will be updated for long term, but not very quick because I am not always free and I am lazy.

Update 1 (19 July 26): Now it has cutscene hairstyle option for short braid. Still considering if making other hairstyle options independently or do it one together in one option like the player only collection in future.

Installation instructions

Follow the forger tutorial for mod user. Unzip the 7z file first. This mod is in the same Cutscene Headgear.v6.forger2 file name as the original fixed version one, so if you have that one in the ForgerPatches folder already you should override it with this one.

Requirements

You need Forger Patch Manager and Outfit Customizer in Player Customizations for some options. My odyssey is 1. 5. 6 with all dlc, so my modification is based on having all game files. I don't know if this matter but you might need to be careful of it.

Description

This is the cutscene headgear mod adding with new options, for example showing Lion Head (ACD_CHM_MER_H117_A01_LionHeadHood) that provided in the Outfit Headgear selector of Outfit Customizer, based on the forger. 2 file fixed by KainPrimus. The Adding Options section below is the information related to add new cutscene headgear option. I am not good at summarise my words or express things compactly, so the section might be too wordy to read sorry for that.

Adding Options

What written in this section only limited to apply on cutscene headgear, there are no such convenient fixed offset hex position for making other modifications.

Essential instrument: You need ACViewerBlacksmith and hex editor e.g. HxD.

Open the cutscene headgear .forger2 file in json viewer (notepad, notepad++...etc.) and look into every options, you can see it only do one thing, it edits offsethex 00 by data 03. Therefore, the goal is know where the file id and offsetbaseshex refering to. You just need to replace the Files, FileIDs and OffsetBasesHex of the helmet you want.

The FileIDs of .forger2 file are in decimal, convert them by any hex converter online and search it by ID in ACviewer, you can see almost all targets that the FileIDs referencing here are the mesh files of helmet. For example, the 3 FileIDs shown in above image of Perseus Crown part are targeting to ACD_CHM_PLA_H80_A01_Crown from LOD4 to LOD2 respectively. Which means the FileIDs we need are the IDs of the helmet mesh you want to show in all LOD from lowest to highest.

Then, remember to right click the file in ACviewer and note down the locations contain it, the path is what you need put in "Files" part. Mesh files are in multiple locations but you just have to choose one, best to keep following with that one used in the mod. More details about the file location are in the section Subtleties in the Forger File.

Remark:I don't know why but the option of Crescent Helmet & Helmet of Orpheus edit the LOD selector then the LOD1&0 mesh, especially I can find the LOD4/3/2 mesh of these helmet in ACviewer, I can't figure out the reason of targeting LOD selector here. That's why I use 'almost all target' above. End of Remark.

Next, extract the helmet mesh file by BlackSmith in decompressed data and open the decompressed data in the hex editor. It is obvious to find a consistent pattern that the target OffsetBasesHex we need is always the 12th 00 value after 3F 00 80 3F at the last 3 line. For example, here is the screenshot of decompressed LOD3 crown mesh opened in HxD. At the bottom last 3 line, the location of the 12th 00 value after 3F 00 00 80 3F is exactly 2EF8 which is same as the second OffsetBasesHex in the .forger2 file (look back at the image above). As I said before at the beginning, this fixed location of hex is a special case for the helmet files only.

If you have tons of free time, you can extract the target meshes of each option, cross check the location of the 12th 00 after 3F 00 00 80 3F shown in hex editor wit
