What is this?

Abiotic Factor keeps your progress in save files on your PC. Abiotic Editor opens those files and shows everything inside as simple controls: sliders for your needs, a grid for your inventory, a checklist for recipes, and a 3D view of your base. Change what you want, press SAVE, and load the game.

It reads the game's own data from your installed copy, so you see your real item pictures, recipe names, skill perks, story text and even the game's 3D models. Nothing from the game is in the download.

It is a fan-made tool and is not part of the game.

What can I do with it?

• []Your character: top up hunger, thirst, sanity and health, max a skill, give yourself money, unlock recipes, hand yourself any item, change traits, looks, transmog and respawn point.[/]

  []Your world: restock containers, open doors, recover dropped items, revive a story character, look after pets, fix vehicles, set story progress, unlock traders, fill containment cells, and tend garden plots and chemistry benches.[/]

  []Your base, in 3D: walk through it, move and copy pieces, place new ones from a picture palette, and wire up power.[/]

  []Fix a mistake: refill a node you harvested, repair a broken window or ice wall, or put the story back in order.[/]

  []Move between worlds and platforms: move items between saves, and convert a world between Game Pass and Steam in either direction.[/]

  []Run a server: edit any player's save, change world state, or adjust difficulty and rates without touching a text file.[/]

  Inventory: every slot, the real item pictures, and the full item catalogue to add from.

  World lists show how each door, button, tram or crate looks, and where it stands. Click the picture to see it large.

  Story events, grouped by chapter. The editor offers to set a quest's earlier steps for you, so the story stays in order.

  Your base in 3D

  Open a region save and choose the Bases tab. The Map shows your bases on a top-down picture of the level. The 3D view draws them with the game's own models and the level around them.

  • []Look around: drag to turn, scroll to zoom, or press Walk to explore at eye height.[/]

    []Click anything: a crate shows its contents, a bench its upgrades, a door opens or closes, a trader shows what they sell, a containment cell shows its creature.[/]

    []Change your base: turn on Edit mode, then drag pieces around, turn them, copy them or remove them. The view warns you when a piece cuts into a wall or floats in the air.[/]

    []Add new pieces: Add object opens a palette of pictures. Drag one onto the view to place it, even kinds you have only built in your other worlds.[/]

    []Wire up power: plug devices into outlets and run cables through cable reroutes, the way the game does.[/]

    []Show in 3D: most lists have a button that takes you straight to that door, crate, button or character.[/]
