Modder's Resource - MaxUtils

This is a collection of Lua UE4SS functions you are free to use in any mod you are making. For an example of how to use these functions, look at my mods Ammo Farming or Foggy Esoterica.

All files are extensively commented/documenting to make using and editing as easy as possible.

MUTrading.lua

Functions for modifying the inventory of traders.

  []Change existing trades, singly or as a batch [/]

  []Set up randomized trades that change every in-game day[/]

Planned but not yet implemented features include forcing traders to restock on command and support for more than two randomized trades per trader. I also plan to eventually include an example tradeValues file with all of the vanilla trades, for reference.

MUStructDef.lua

LuaLS annotations both for these utilities and for common Unity functions, helping to reduce Lua diagnostic errors. This file does not have any live code! It is for annotation support only.

Installation Instructions

Copy the MaxUtils folder into the Scripts folder of your mod. In any of your files, include this line at the top:

local MaxUtils = require("MaxUtils. MaxUtils")Anywhere else in that file, you can call any of the utility functions like the following example:

local tradeRow = MaxUtils.findTraderRow("trader_grayson")

The StructDef file does not have to be loaded in any way; as long as LuaLS is installed correctly, simply open your entire mod folder in your preferred editor and the annotations will be applied.

Requirements

Absolutely requires UE4SS version 1. 20. 0 or later, found here. Earlier versions do not support data table editing and will not work.
