📋 About This Mod
Balances out some of the more unused and weaker perks in an attempt to make your life very difficult when trying to select which perk you want. 100% server side friendly!
Description
An attempt at balancing out the perks in the game to make them all more equally usable. This is 100% server side friendly and totally compatible with my Better Perk Progression mod (just download the localization patch on that mod).
Balance Changes
Perception
Dead Eye
-
[]Improved the Kill Streak bonus to 10-50%, 30-70%, and 60-100% from 10-30%, 20-40%, 30-50% damage at levels 3, 4, 5; as well as slightly increased the buff timer to give you a bit more time to get another kill.[/]
[]I feel like rifles needed a bit of love to catch up to automatics and shotguns. This was a more fun, unique way of giving them just a bit more damage.[/]
Spear Master
-
[]Gave basic attacks half the chance to slow that power attacks get (10-50% from level 1-5). Moved the stamina cost reduction and stamina refund on kill to Quick and Perceptive.[/]
[]I know this one is a bit controversial, but Quick and Perceptive really needed something and Spear Master already has so much loaded into it.[/]
Quick and Perceptive
-
[]Now has the stamina reduction per swing and stamina refund on kills.[/]
The infiltrator
-
[]To improve this, i actually increased the damage of all mines by nearly double (this way you want to pick them up more). Additionally, i gave The Infiltrator a gunpowder reduction on the cost of crafting mines and removed the duct tape requirement for making mines to make them easier to craft.[/]
[]The final level of The Infiltrator now also gives 95% damage reduction to mine damage.[/]
Animal Tracker
-
[]Animal Tracker now increases the range that you can track animals, starting at 100 and going up to 200 at max level[/]
[]Additionally, animal tracker now increases the damage you do to all animals (including zombie animals) by up to 100% at max level.[/]
Perception Mastery
-
[]Level 4 Perception Mastery changed the 25% damage requirement from Sprinting Attack to checking if the enemy is slowed. This should make it much easier to get the damage bonus but it also compliments the spear playing style more (since I imagine if you are using the spear, you are trying to take advantage of its reach)[/]
Strength
Pummel Pete
-
[]Changed the 40-200% damage increase requirement to be a sprinting attack rather than the enemy stunned.[/]
[]Clubs have a lot of synergy with sprinting/sprinting attacks, and the stun requirement seemed wonky at best to try to get. This also gives the Club/Bat a bit of a different niche compared to Sledgehammers[/]
Grand Slam
-
[]Added a 5-25% damage resist while sprinting when holding a club/sledge weapon.[/]
[]This should make those sprinting attack attempts a bit less painful[/]
Big and Fast
-
[]The stamina reduction and refund effects were moved off of both Pummel Pete and Skull Crusher and into Big and Fast.[/]
[]Like perception, Big and Fast needed the love and Pummel Pete and Skull Crusher already had so much to them.[/]
Strength Mastery
-
[]Strength Mastery 3 (Battle Miner) now also increases attack speed by 25%, increases zombie damage by 100% up from 50%, and gives a 50% chance to headshot zombies with tools.[/]
[]I could have just completely done away with Battle Miner, but I don't hate the idea of being able to use your Pickaxe or whatnot to kill zombies if you want to. The 25% increased swing speed will also help speed up mining, so either way there is at least some benefit now.[/]
Fortitude
The Brawler
-
[]Rank 3 now gives 30% chance to Knock Down opponent with Headshots up from 20%[/]
[]Rank 4 now gives a 10% chance to knock the enemy unconscious instead of the increased knockdown chance.[/]
[]Knuckles were interesting because they had such a wide variety of effects they could do. I wanted to lean into this by giving them a small chance to do another powerful effect to help give them a bit of balance.[/]
Lightning Hands
-
[]The stamina reduction and refund effects for first weapons were moved into Lightning Hands. Like above, it needed the love and The Brawler already had so much going on with it.[/]
