Most camera zoom hacks are incompatible with the newer widescreen hacks, as anybody who's tried to use both at the same time has probably seen. Your POV ends up looking stretched and images don't appear where they're supposed to, and that's if you have them in the right order for the zoom hack to work at all.
This hack removes an arbitrary change which conflicts with widescreen hacks such as this one, so you can zoom to your heart's content without having to sacrifice any visuals. Make sure to place this BELOW "zWidescreen.z2f" in your mod folder.
