Next Gen Yakuza 3 (DLSS 5 Neural Rendering)

Description

DLSS 5 for Yakuza 3 — DLAA + Neural Rendering, in a game that ships with no DLSS at all.

Yakuza 3 (Remastered) has no upscaler of any kind. This mod adds NVIDIA's DLSS in DLAA mode plus DLSS 5 Neural Rendering on top of it, driven through ReShade. A companion effect hands ReShade's depth and estimated motion vectors to a private DLSS pass, and RenoDX's DLSS 5 add-on runs the Neural Rendering model over the result to synthesise detail — all without the game knowing DLSS exists.

This is a pre-configured, turnkey build of the "DLSS 5 by Kazzka" Feeder path, assembled and tuned specifically for Yakuza 3 so you don't have to touch ReShade menus, pick motion-vector providers, or order effects yourself. Extract, launch, done.

It is an unofficial, experimental (beta) setup. Nothing here is endorsed by SEGA/RGG or NVIDIA.

Installation instructions

1. Open your Yakuza 3 folder (Steam → right-click Yakuza 3 → Manage → Browse local files). This is the folder that contains Yakuza3.exe.

2. Extract everything from the archive straight into that folder, next to Yakuza3.exe. After extraction you should see dxgi.dll, the .addon64 files, the nvngx_* files, reshade-shaders\, ReShade.ini, ReShadePreset.ini, dlss5-feed.cfg, and Launch Yakuza 3 (DLSS 5).bat.

3. Start Steam (just leave it running).

4. Launch the game with Launch Yakuza 3 (DLSS 5).bat — not the Steam "Play" button.

Why not the Steam Play button: the Steam overlay injects a second DXGI hook that collides with the mod and crashes the game (access violation at startup or on a scene change). The overlay only attaches when Steam itself launches the game, so the included .bat starts the exe directly and stays crash-free while keeping Steam connected (cloud saves, achievements and playtime still work). If you'd rather keep using the Play button, disable the overlay for this game instead: right-click Yakuza 3 → Properties → General → untick "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game."

Main features

- DLSS DLAA — NVIDIA's anti-aliasing/reconstruction running on a game that never supported it.

- DLSS 5 Neural Rendering — the NR model synthesises fine detail over the frame (RenoDX color composition). Toggle it in-game with F6.

- Work Resolution slider — the main FPS lever. Runs the DLAA + NR work at 50–100% of screen size while your frame stays native. Preset to 67%; change it live, no restart. Lower = faster, higher = sharper.

- Pre-tuned out of the box — motion vectors via LumeniteFX Kernel, correct effect order, and NR already enabled in the bundled ReShade config. Press Home for the ReShade overlay if you want to tweak.

- One-file launcher included so you never trip the Steam overlay crash.

Requirements

- Yakuza 3 Remastered on PC (Steam, App ID 1088710).

- An NVIDIA RTX GPU with a recent driver. Verified working on an RTX 3060; DLAA/NR run fine on 30-series here.

- ~230 MB free disk space (the NVIDIA nvngx_dlss.dll and nvngx_dlssnr.dll runtime components are bundled so it works out of the box).

- No other ReShade/wrapper dxgi.dll in the game folder.

- Nothing else to install — ReShade, the DLSS 5 Feed add-on, RenoDX and the LumeniteFX shaders are all included and pre-set.

- Kazzka — for the "DLSS 5 by Kazzka" pack this build is based on.

- clshortfuse (RenoDX) — the DLSS 5 add-on and the color composition that makes Neural Rendering hold together.

- The DLSS5-Feeder project — the synthetic DLSS contract that makes this work in a game with no DLSS.

- umar-afzaal (LumeniteFX) — the Kernel shader providing motion vectors.
