📋 About This Mod

NEW VOICES 28/06/23 An EVER GROWING (more will come as I make them), unofficial addon to Szmind's godtier mod "Squadron Unleashed 2". It's newest versions allow for pilots to have individual voicepacks assigned to them, and like the

So what is this?

First of all, yes, of course you need the original mod, as this is only a flavour addon to it. Recent versions of SU2 allow pilots to have their own sets of voices that play a line (among many if you have many) depending on situation. So instead of only having Van Doorn's VA, you could have somebody else you'd like.

If any of you want to learn how to make pilot vps, lemme know and I'll teach you! It's about 84 times easier and less time consuming than doing a normal vp and that's already easy!

Installation

  • []Download the ones you want (they're completely independent from each other).

Each pilot voicepack consists of a single .upk file. Up to you to keep the subfolder they came in, I'd recommend so to know which file belongs to who.

  • []Place the .upk files somewhere INSIDE XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW\XComGame\CookedPCConsole

Preferably inside the SquadronUnleashed subfolder or somewhere where you have other vps or whatever.

  • Open DefaultSquadronUnleashed.ini (this comes with Smind's SU2 mod) and search for the  bit. Just below it is where you can add the entries that'll make the game read the vps.

Said entries are pretty similar to normal voicepacks' but are even simpler. These are literally PilotVoiceSet="NAME OF . UPK FILE". Since I tend to serialize my projects these lines tend to look like PilotVoiceSet="PilotVoicenumber of voice I've made_Ruby". Do NOT add the "_SF" nor the ".upk" bits. _SF is a suffix added by cooked UDK projects. Or something.

If this explanation still sounds like Eldar bs, don't worry, I'll show an example image in the Media bit.

The Cast

As established, they're all independent from each other, so as much as I'd like to force feed y'all every single one of these, I'm benevolent enough to give you the option to get the ones you're interested in, without having to deal with the other audio war crimes of mine. I'm still not responsible for y'all not liking what I'm putting out, so if you don't vibe with them, a llorar a la llorería!

Anyways, SOME are ports of my past normal vps (as in, same files that'd eventually be imported to UDK), and some are built from the ground up (like the ones I turned into a MEC vp or something via adding filter or something, this time using unfiltered files for their pilot versions).

Each should have 70 or less (cause of performance issues if using too many) lines, with 10 lines per cue max being the "format" I work with.
