Improved Quasar

INSTALLING: Copy the ImprovedQuasar folder to X4 Foundations\extensions.

UNINSTALLING: See the above folder? Delete it. Nothing else is necessary.

Let's face it, the Argon Quasar is one of the best looking ships in the game. A weird cross between an X-Wing and an S-11 Demon, it has the aggressive profile of a fast attack fighter. So, then, why is outclassed in almost every way by the starting Elite fighter?

The competing ships, the Pulsar (glorious GTF Erinyes) and Eclipse (a B-29 bomber sawn in half), excel in their roles of offense and defense respectively, but the Quasar has the same hardpoints as the Eclipse with less hull than the Elite, and is barely more maneuverable than the Pulsar (and due to the third engine the Pulsar is still faster). Overall, compared to the other two, what it has in looks it lacks in functionality

This mod does a few things to the Quasar.

• []It boosts the HP from 1700 to 1800, the same as the Elite (Thank you ilinor241 for pointing out that I said it was 1900! I was fiddling halfway through writing).

  []It lowers turning/thrust drag to below that of the Pulsar, allowing for tighter cornering and faster lateral thrust.

• It cuts forward drag a little bit, making the fighter a bit faster and that speed is reached quicker. Still a tad slower than the Pulsar though!

  The end result, a nippier fighter that can basically glue itself to enemy exhaust pipes.

  NOTE: A second version has been provided for those who use AngEviL's Shield and Weapon Overhaul that boosts the hull to 2270 to match up with the rest of the balanced ships. The two mods are compatible since there isn't an XML file for the Quasar in that mod that makes any changes.
