(8.0 - pending update) Chiba light carrier

After recent Xenon incursions, Terran High Command saw the need for a fast mobile light carrier. As the need was quite urgent, it was decided to re-use the civilian Hokkaido chassis. While this allowed for new light carrier to be deployed in record time, it suffered from lack of survivability due to limitations of its chassis. Side mounted cargo pods have been replaced with additional turrets to improve the ship's combat worthiness.

As X4 lacks the "old" M7d class of ships, it suffers from severe lack of early game carrier options.

Chiba light carrier has been inspired by an aspiring 3d artist and an existing ship of the same name from VRO mod.

This is a remodel of VRO Chiba aimed at making her into a proper competitor of Boron Guppy.

Features:

- 5 S-size landing pads (+10 internal storage)

- drone (23 drone capacity) / fighter launch tube

- 16M turrets

- 1L turret

- 1L shield

- improved mobility over Hokkaido, due to lower mass & drag

Known bugs:

• []minor texture mismatch, visible on the hangar container's truss structure in direct sunlight[/]

  []you cannot walk between the landing pads, due to there being three separate dock areas on the ship instead of a single large one.[/]

  []Linux / Mac users: change folder name to be all lowercase, otherwise game might fail to "see" the mod[/]
