Orient X Haunted

I made this map because I wasn't satisfied with the similar looking maps the game generates and wanted something unique. Because I like the art-style it was clear that the map had to look exactly like the worms WMD art, anything else would look out of place. So there are no game assets publicly available, which mean if we are gonna make a map like this we got to improvise. So the process of making this map was the following: 1. We generate a map with a layout we want to work with. Sometimes I randomly generated just elements I found interesting. 2. We zoom in exactly two! increments (this is important so that the overall proportions will be right in the end). Then we screenshot each part of the map. We can also screenshot just elements. 3. We end up with multiple pieces of the map. We are gonna have to stich them back together later. But first, since my resolutions is 1920 x 1080 pixel we use AI-upscaling to double the size of each screenshot. This will later help to make everything look smooth in game. 4. For AI-upscaling we can use certain sites online, I bet you will find something when you google for it. Afterwards we should have all our screenshots at a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixel. 5. Now we open our image editing program and set the canvas to 8192 x 4096 pixel, which I found is approximately the size of a large map. 6. We align each part of the map carefully with each other so that we get a seamless reconstruction of the original layout. Then we can optionally add some elements. Make sure you use individual layers for each map part in your editing program. 7. The most tedious part: cutting out all the pieces. Make sure you use max opacity on your eraser or cut out tool, cause each pixel that has slight transparency will have collision in game. 8. Refining the seams between pieces. You might not notice it but worms has a simple form of lightning and parts can seem off with visible seams after aligning the screenshots. We can use the clone tool or auto repai
