East Asia Alternate Cold War

An alternate not very realistic timeline of East Asia set approximately in the year 1983 during the Cold War. This is just something I came up with while I was bored, please behave yourselves in the comments Key differences in this timeline: - In 1951, following China's fall to communism, India falls into a civil war and in 1954, the country is split between the communist hindi north and us-alligned tamil south - Due to India's semi-fall to communism, Pakistan's claim over Jammu and Kashmir is fully recognised by the western world - In 1958, Sri Lanka has a communist uprising following ethnic tensions with the Tamils in the north. South India aided by the US invades and occupies the island in 1959 - In 1977, following Mao Zedong's death as well as civil unrest due to former economic policies, China devolves into a full blown civil war. By 1979 the effects of the war spill over into Mongolia and forces a reform in their communist government. The ROC is later re-established occupying almost all the mainland with Tibet as a puppet state - Not long after the CCP's - After 1980, the Soviet Union begins economic reforms (similar to China's reforms in 1979 by Deng Xiaoping) establishing a "socialism with soviet characteristics" system. By 1983, the Soviet economy is in a far better position and there is no intervention in Afghanistan.
