W3 Linux Mod Manager

Description

I created this for myself because I wanted a simpler way to manage Witcher 3 mods on Linux. The original Mod Manager and Script Merger work fine under Wine on Linux, but the setup isn't exactly ideal.

Installation instructions

- Download the python script (main file), make it executable and run. Right-click script file > Properties > Permissions.

- Put the script in the game folder, preferably.

- Go to Settings (...) and input the game folder and the prefix folder (for mod.settings and other user files).

- Optionally, put in your Nexus API Key so you can download and keep track of mods from within the manager. Disabled until my registration is approved by Nexus.

Main features

- No need for Script Merger as it's done automatically for you as you install a mod.

- Priority is done on a need-for-basis, that is, only for mods that require priority. Mods that conflict basically.

- Priority can be edited as you see fit. Drag and drop above/below or edit manually. mod.settings is handled automatically for you.

- Any type of mod is supported, even those that are marked as manual install only.

- The Manager will automatically install every type of setting for you, from user.settings, input.settings, to bin files and menu entries.

- Menu xmls are added to dx11filelist.txt / dx12filelist.txt automatically.

- Any game file a mod might overwrite gets backed up and restored when that mod is disabled or removed.

- Archives get extracted and sorted into a staging area (_ModManager) inside the game folder, then deployed as hardlinks.

- Open-source. Read it with a text/code editor.

- Everything is portable and held in _ModManager folder.
