📋 About This Mod
The appearance of the Ursine sets are now applied to the Griffin sets, and the Griffin sets now look like the Ursine ones. Stats between both sets and names of the items remain unchanged. Dyes, Grandmaster sets, and whatever else comes with
Swaps the equip_templates of the Griffin and Ursine Armor Sets (all of them I could find in my game, I own all the DLC) so that the stats and names of the sets are the same, but the texture/model of the sets have changed, which is different from other mods that swap out the stats. I prefer the Ursine look but use the Griffin set for my signs, so it works for me. Dyes, Grandmaster version, etc. all verified working.
HOW TO INSTALL:
This is a "choose one in the files section and install it in the MODS folder in your Witcher 3 directory" type of mod.
You have two choices: one where the set weapons are untouched and only the armor models have changed (Main file, "Normal"), and another where the Griffin and Ursine set scabbards have changed with the armor sets to match the swaps ("Scabbards"). If you want the entire weapons to change models (i.e. the Ursine sword to have a Griffin sword look), read the "HOW TO MOD YOURSELF" section on this page to learn how to do it yourself.
Anyway, as an example, if you have Steam and want the scabbards to remain the same, the normal one in the files section and place the unzipped folder in, e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\MODS
HOW TO MOD YOURSELF:
If you want to modify this mod, know how it was made, or do a completely new item set texture/model swap, these instructions are for you. Otherwise, you can ignore this section.
I used Sarcen's Witcher 3 Mod Editor. It was down on most sites I looked up but find a link to download it from some random German guy's Google Drive from a YouTube tutorial on how to change scabbards. Seemed safe enough, right?
It requires Witcher 3 Mod Tools to be installed, which is still online as of this writing.
In Sarcen's Witcher 3 Mod Editor, simply create a new mod and add files to it from the menu. The filed you want to add are:
