📋 About This Mod
This mod expands gear customization by adding a new system into the Enchanting menu allowing you to add additional secondary stat, set bonus and core stat scaling to your relic and witcher type of items.
I started developing this mod back in March 2026 with the initial release of my Item Reforging mod and a bit later Item Reforging Ultimate mod and since then I have been working exclusively on refining and improving it until today when I'm presenting its final conception.
Advanced Enchanting expands the gear customization by adding a new system directly into the existing Enchanting / Runewright interface. That being said, the mod does not replace the vanilla enchantment system. The normal vanilla enchanting category remains available alongside the 3 new enchanting sub categories or 3 additional ways to customize eligible gear, meaning only relic and witcher type of gear take advantage of the new enchanting modes. These new enchanting categories are independent from each other. An item can therefore have enchanted stat, enchanted set bonus and enchanted core stat scaling along the normal vanilla enchant. Items containing some of the new enchants are also visually marked in the inventory, making it easy to see which type of modification an item has. The mod comes with highly customizable mod menu which allows you to change and balance the values of each new enchant to your liking and not only.
Enchant Stat – allows you to add one additional secondary stat to your item. The available stats are filtered according to the type of the item. Weapons mainly receive offensive and combat oriented choices, while armor pieces receive combinations of defensive, utility, regeneration and Sign related stats. The stats are split into Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 with the main goal being the prize you must pay to unlock them (similar to how you unlock vanilla enchants by paying the prize during the Runewriter questline). In addition, I've placed the more useful stats in higher ranks. The mod menu allows you to use random rolls or fixed values:
Random Stat Rolls ON - choosing a stat rolls its value within that stat allowed range. This mode gives the game a more RPG oriented and balanced style, encouraging you to take risks with your resources to gain greater benefits.
Random Stat Rolls OFF - the mod menu allows you to set the exact value for that stat, letting you fully control the balance yourself.
Keep in mind that already applied stats to your items use a snapshotting mechanic, meaning that changing these values in the mod menu works non-retroactive or already pre-applied stats to your items will not magically change their values when you change them in the mod menu. This will require to remove the enchanted stat and reapply it again.
Enchant Set Bonus – adds a set bonus to an item, making it to contribute toward one of the vanilla/custom set bonus effects. This is probably the part of the mod I spent most of my time on to balance and expand the normal vanilla set bonus system as well as creating new set bonuses. The first big change is that set bonuses are no longer packed in 2-effect style (in vanilla you have 3-pieces and 6-pieces set bonus) but instead a single effect (similar to Vampire set bonus). Then every set bonus has its own name apart from just Gryphon Set, Feline Set, etc. which is also visible on the item's tooltip when you enchant that set bonus. The mod comes with 32 set bonuses split in 3 categories ( Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3) depending on their benefits and power. Thus Level 1 requires 3 pieces to activate, Level 2 requires 4 pieces to activate and Level 3 requires 5 pieces to activate. This means you can combine Level 1 and Level 2 or 2 x Level 1 set bonuses but just a single Level 3 set bonus. You unlock them similar to vanilla enchants. All vanilla set bonuses are available in the mod but few of them are slightly reworked and few of them have their effects split. So for example the vanilla Griffin 6-pieces set bonus is split onto 2 set bonuses - the first increases the Yrden size and the second gains you Sign Intensity and Stamina regeneration while inside the Yrden trap. I removed the damage reduction while in Yrden trap as I consider this as a too much to otherwise a highly overpowered set bonus. Every value of these effects (except 2 vanilla set bonuses cause there is nothing to tune there) is avalable for tuning through the
