📋 About This Mod
The original and official project maintained by the WSE Project team: Add items to your inventory, change stack sizes, edit stats, and more. Includes a simple .html database of every item, and useful information for developers.
Windrose Save Editor
A Python script that lets you directly edit your Windrose character save file. Edit inventory items, character stats, and talent skills — all from a simple terminal menu with no external tools required.
Includes a database of every item in the game, including useful resources for modders (Tags, Keys, BP Paths, Icon Assets Paths, etc) all in a convenient and easy to use .html file!
Used for finding ItemParams to add items.
What It Can Do
Inventory
-
[]View all items across every inventory module[/]
[]Change item levels (e.g. upgrade a weapon to level 15)[/]
[]Change stack counts on consumables and materials[/]
[]Add new items to empty slots using the item's internal asset path[/]
[]Replace a existing items[/]
-
[]Edit all six core stats: Strength, Agility, Precision, Mastery, Vitality, Endurance[/]
[]Edit all 37 talent tree skills across all four categories: Fencer, Toughguy, Marksman, Crusher[/]
[]Progression points are recalculated automatically after every change[/]
-
[]Automatic full backup before the first write of each session (covers Accounts, Players, and Worlds databases)[/]
[]JSON export of your full save for inspection[/]
[]Auto-detects your save location — no manual path needed in most cases[/]
Requirements
-
[]Python 3. 10 or newer[/]
[]psutil (optional) — enables game process detection and the force-close option
[]Install with:
pip install psutil[/]
No other libraries are needed.
How to Use
Step 1 — Install Python Download and install Python 3. 10 or newer from python.org. During installation, tick the box that says "Add Python to PATH".
Step 2 — Download the script
from the Files tab and place it anywhere on your PC — your Desktop is fine.
Step 3 — (Optional) Install psutil Open a Command Prompt and run:
pip install psutilThis adds automatic game detection so the editor can wait for Windrose to close before writing changes. (Though as good practice, always make sure the game is CLOSED prior to running the script.)
Step 4 — Run the editor Double-click
Windrose_Save_Editor.py, or open a Command Prompt in the same folder and run:
python Windrose_Save_Editor.pyThe editor will find your save file automatically and show a list of your characters to choose from if there are multiple.
Step 5 — Make your edits Use the numbered menu to make changes. All edits are kept in memory until you press S to save.
Step 6 — Save Press S, confirm your changes.
Important Notes
-
[]Back up your save before editing. The editor creates an automatic backup on the first save of each session, but keeping your own copy is always a good idea. Your save is located at:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles\[/
][]Always quit the game via the in-game menu (not Alt+F4 or Task Manager) before launching the editor. This ensures the database is in a clean state.[/]
[]Adding items requires the item's internal asset path (ItemParams). These look like:
/R5BusinessRules/InventoryItems/Equipments/Armor/DA_EID_Armor_Name. DA_EID_Armor_Name. You can find these by using the included: "Item ID Database.html"[/]
