📋 About This Mod
Windrose Text Chat adds text chat to Windrose.
Description
Windrose has no text chat. This adds it.
Install it, load into a world, press Enter, and you're talking. No account,
no setup, nothing to configure. It connects automatically to a community
relay, so you and anyone else running the mod can talk in game.
Messages persist. Leave a note for a crewmate who's offline and they'll
see it next time they play.
This is a young mod. Expect rough edges and please report them! Bug reports
are genuinely welcome. Everyone you want to chat with needs this mod installed.
There's no way around that. The game has no text chat for the mod to hook into,
so players without it can't see or send messages.
Installation instructions
Paths below assume a default Steam installation. Update the drive letter and path as needed.

[]Install UE4SS for Windrose first. This mod is a UE4SS plugin and does nothing without it.
[]Apply two UE4SS settings this game needs. Both are one-line edits that correct bugs in UE4SS itself,
and Windrose won't work properly without them:[/

- []Open C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Windrose\R5\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\mods.txt and set:[/]
- []Open C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Windrose\R5\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\UE4SS-settings.ini, and under set:[/]
Flip it back to 1 only if you're debugging a crash.
3. Extract this mod's zip into your Windrose folder, so the files land in:

Quick Controls
Focus chat / send message
Show/hide the chat window
Summon mouse cursor (drag, resize, click tabs) or LB+RB on controller

Decrease UI scale
Unfocus the chat window
