Ultimate Base Freedom

Build workstations anywhere - stack bonfires as you desire! This mod completely overhauls the base building and comfort mechanics in Windrose by removing several annoying restrictions, giving you absolute freedom to design your dream base without compromise.

Features

Bonfire Network Overlap: The "anti-spam" radius for Bonfires has been completely removed. You can now build as many Bonfires as you want, right next to each other! This allows you to create massive, gap-less comfort nets across giant bases.

Global Roof Freedom: No more "Requires a roof" errors! Workstations no longer require a roof to function, allowing you to build stunning open-air crafting areas. Furthermore, the annoying restriction that prevented Furnaces and Kilns from being placed under a roof has been disabled, so you can finally build indoor smelting rooms.

Sleeping Under The Stars: Beds no longer require a roof over them to be used. You can finally build your camp out in the open air and sleep wherever you want.

Dismantle everywhere: You can now place and use the Disassambly Table everywhere on the map, provided you have the materials with you.

Free Workstation Placement: Workstations no longer require a Bonfire to be placed or interacted with. You can build them absolutely anywhere. (See important note below regarding crafting levels!)

⚠️ Important: Storage & Crafting Level Mechanics

While you can place stations anywhere, they still need a Bonfire to provide their crafting level.

Furthermore, please be aware: Workstations, station upgrades, and storage chests will ONLY share items and pull materials automatically from chests if they are placed within the radius of the EXACT SAME Bonfire. While this mod allows you to overlap Bonfires, the game's internal logic will only link containers and stations that share the same Bonfire network.

Multiplayer Compatibility

Fully Supported!

This mod has been tested and works flawlessly in Singleplayer, Multiplayer (Co-Op), and on Dedicated Servers.

Mod Compatibility

Bonfire Radius Mods: This mod is fully compatible with other mods that increase or change the Bonfire radius! I was specifically targeting the build restrictions and anti-spam rules, leaving the actual Bonfire radius properties completely untouched.

Installation

1. Download and extract the archive.

2. You will find exactly 3 files inside the extracted folder.

3. Place all 3 files directly into your Windrose mods folder:

Windrose\R5\Content\Paks\~mods

(Note: If the `~mods` folder does not exist yet, simply create it yourself!)

Multiplayer Installation

Co-op (Host Game)

For co-op sessions, the installation is different for the host and the joining friends:

• []Joining Players (Clients) and Host: Install the mod into your normal game directory as described in the main installation steps above.[/]

  []Host only: The host must install a second copy of the mod files into the game's local server directory. This is typically located at: :\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Windrose\R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Content\Paks\~mods\[/]

  Dedicated Server

  The installation process for dedicated servers can vary depending on your server provider and operating system. Generally, you need to place the 3 mod files into your server's Pak directory:

  ...\R5\Content\Paks\~mods\

  Please consult your server provider's documentation if you are unsure where the Content folder is located.

  Side note: This mod replaces my older mod Workstations Jailbreak, which is now deprecated. It's still working as of now but will no longer be supported incase future game updates break it.
