SaveServers 1.0

Description

A UE4SS Lua mod that lets you save server IP addresses and ports so you never have to memorize or retype them. Passwords are intentionally never saved for security.

Installation instructions

1. Download and install the Windrose UE4SS v3. 0. 1 Beta if you have not already. Follow the instructions on that mod page.

2. Navigate to your Windrose install folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Windrose\R5\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\

3. Copy the SavedServers folder into the Mods directory so the structure looks like this:

└── SavedServers/

└── Scripts/

└── main.lua

4. Open mods.txt in the Mods folder and add this line before the Keybinds line:

SavedServers : 1

5. Launch Windrose. You should see this message in the UE4SS console window:

Mod loaded! Commands: ss_save, ss_list, ss_ip, ss_port, ss_delete

Main features

Just one way to save multiple IP and Port numbers when connecting to servers using DIRECT IP connections. 

Open the in-game console by pressing the Tilde key (~) or F10.

### Saving a Server

ss_save <name> <ip> <port>

ss_save PirateServer 172. 240. 18. 144 12345

The name cannot contain spaces. Use underscores instead, like `My_Server`.

### Listing Your Servers

This shows all your saved servers with their numbers, which you need for the other commands.

### Connecting to a Server

Windrose has two separate fields for IP and Port on the Direct Connect screen, so connecting takes two steps.

Step 1: Copy the IP

Close the console, click the IP field, and press Ctrl+V to paste.

Step 2: Copy the Port

Open the console again and type:

Then enter your password manually and connect!

### Deleting a Server

ss_delete 1

Replace 1 with the number from ss_list.

## Where Servers Are Saved

Your servers are saved to a plain text file called SavedServers.txt located in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Windrose\R5\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\

Passwords are never saved. You will always need to enter your password manually when connecting.

## Troubleshooting

The mod does not load or commands do not work

Make sure you are using the Windrose specific UE4SS v3. 0. 1 Beta and not a standard UE4SS release. Standard releases do not support Windrose because it runs on Unreal Engine 5. 6.

Commands do not respond when I type them

Make sure the in-game console is open. Press Tilde (~) or F10 to open it. If neither key works, check that ConsoleEnablerMod is enabled in mods.txt.

My saved servers disappeared

Check that SavedServers.txt still exists in the ue4ss folder. If you reinstalled UE4SS the file may have been deleted. It is safe to back this file up separately.

This mod was built to work within the limitations of UE4SS v3. 0. 1 Beta for Windrose. A future version may include auto-fill functionality if UE4SS support for Windrose is expanded.

Passwords are never saved by design. Please do not request this feature.
