OVERVIEW

Dark Hulls - Ship Material Replacement / Swap

This Mod 'aims' to make ship hulls darker than usual & ultimatively allows for black hulls.

( with fitting hull customization, for vanilla as example: BogWood)

After a fairly long period of experimentation,

I succeeded in keeping the customization as visible as possible

while simultaneously making black hulls possible.

This is a Stand-Alone Module of Black Market Shipyard.

This is a WiP Mod (Work-in-Progress), that means more features are planned and will be added over time,

since there are no guides, no modkit/officially availlable tools - everything is done by reverse engineering by myself alone.

NO AI - but human effort, work and time! - As if anyone would even care tho..

FEATURES

⏺ All Ship Hull Materials are modified to appear darker than vanilla:

- Including the Masts, decoration and also customizations

- It also adds moss to every ship (underwater hull!)

(Various modifications to the ship's hull can make the deck appear brighter - depending on the specific customization!)

SIDE NOTE

The mod is designed and tested exclusively for single-player mode, as I do not play online myself.

Therefore, I will not and cannot provide any support regarding the multiplayer mode.

If it works, it works, great. – If not, I can not and will not make it compatible for the reason mentioned above.

INSTALL

Install Step:

• []Download and extract the mod-folder "~~~~~~" into:

  \Windrose\R5\Content\Paks\..[/]

  Final folder structure:

  Uninstall Step:

  • []The mod can be safely uninstalled and does NOT break any saves etc.[/]

    []Delete the following files in the mod folder or the entire mod-folder "\~~~~~~" in:

  KNOWN ISSUES

  Altered ship materials are also used by AI ships, so they will also appear darker than usual:

  For now this is an limitation of how the game works - The workaround files are already done,

  but there are actually no proper modding tools availlable to edit the crucial files to implement it in a diff. way.

  Ship decks appear brighter with various ship hull customizations:

  This is completely normal and simply depends on which customization was chosen for the ship's hull.

  Will not work together with any other .pak mod, that alters/modify the ship materials..

  This is a limitation of .pak modifications, not an error or bug, and nothing i can and will fix.
