What it does

------------

Base-game lights only light up a small patch of ground around them. This mod makes that patch bigger.

- 1. 2x, 1. 5x, 2x, 3x, 5x, or 7x — how much farther the light reaches

- Brightness stays the same as the base game

Download and install one version only. Do not install two Better Lighting folders at once.

Versions (pick one)

Better Lighting 1. 2x  — light reaches 1. 2 times as far (subtle)

Better Lighting 1. 5x  — light reaches 1. 5 times as far

Better Lighting 2x  — light reaches 2 times as far

Better Lighting 3x  — light reaches 3 times as far

Better Lighting 5x  — light reaches 5 times as far

Better Lighting 7x  — light reaches 7 times as far

Not sure which to try? Start with 1. 5x for a gentle bump, or 3x for a clearer difference. Use 7x if you want a very obvious change.

What it affects

---------------

These lights shine farther:

- Torches (wall and floor)

- Lanterns and lamps (wall, floor, table, hooks)

- Belt lantern

These are not changed — the game uses its own fixed light range for them when you place them, so this mod cannot adjust them:

- Chandeliers

- Fireplaces

- Signal fires

This mod does not change daylight, the sky, or overall world lighting. Only lights you build or carry are affected.

Requirements

- No extra tools or mods required

Installation

------------

1. Download one version (1. 2x, 1. 5x, 2x, 3x, 5x, or 7x).

2. Extract the archive.

3. Copy that folder into: ...\Windrose\R5\Content\Paks\~mods\

4. Remove any other Better Lighting folder from ~mods if you had one installed before.

5. Restart the game.

Dedicated server

----------------

Install the same folder on the server. Everyone in multiplayer needs the same version.

Do not use two Better Lighting versions at once.

Do not use alongside other mods that change placed or carried lighting.
