📋 About This Mod

On request from AutoGnomous on Reddit, this mod will add in warning arcs, much like the damage hit arcs to indicate direction of audio cues from the following events:

  • []Barrels[/]

    []Bursters[/]

    []Crushers[/]

    []Daemonhost[/]

    []Flamers[/]

    []Grenadiers[/]

    []Hounds[/]

    []Maulers[/]

    []Mutants[/]

    []Plasma Gunners[/]

    []Rager[/]

    []Sniper[/]

    []Trappers[/]

    []Tox Bombers[/]

    []Backstabs[/]

Accessibility mod to assist hard of hearing/deaf players to know when certain specials/elites are approaching

The indicators will only appear when the target is less than 40m from you (You can set the range within for each event)

You can toggle each indicator on or off, change its colour, show only if behind you, and also change the distance it appears from the centre.

There's also the option for Active Range, which will move the arc closer to the middle as the target approaches

You can also specify a specific range for each type that will add an Alert icon to indicate they are particularly close

You can turn on a unit count to add numbers to the arc when more than one of a particular type is in range

You can select Left or Right (default Both) to only show arcs on that side for folk with issues only in one ear

All arc settings can be copied from one target type to another

If you reset all the settings with the DMF option, you'll have to restart the game to ensure all the settings are set to the default values

You can specify for the mod to warn if a net is fired within 15m or a cleave is swung within 10m (adjustable). These indicators can be customised for font/size/colour. I recommend using Custom HUD to move these indicators to your favourite spot. As these are tied to the relevant sound effects, please test this functionality in the Psykanium, so you can see how early/late it appears.

There are text warnings for the following:

    • []Trapper Nets[/]

      []Crusher Overheads[/]

      []Plague Ogryn Charges[/]

      []Shotgunners racking their shotgun[/]

      []Hounds about to pounce[/]

[]Sniper shots (only in solo play)[/]

Many thanks to Jwako for their Coherency mod which inspired this, and Raindish for helping me figure out the hooks.

NB: If you have been having issues with the textures not showing correctly, there is a dependency now for Simple Assets which will serve the textures locally. Be sure to run it as indicated and load it before Spidey Sense in the mod load order.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved accessibility mod with 1,611 endorsements and over 121k downloads.
  • Turns critical audio cues into visual indicators, a game-changer for deaf/HoH players.
  • Covers both enemy audio cues and backstab warnings, covering two major audio-dependent situations.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only covers specific enemy types (mutants, hounds) and backstabs, not all audio cues.
  • Visual indicators may clutter the UI during intense fights with multiple enemies.
  • Compatibility with other UI mods is unknown; could conflict with custom HUDs.
🎯 Is This For You?
For deaf or hard of hearing players who miss crucial audio cues from special enemies and backstabs. Also useful for anyone who plays with sound off or in noisy environments. Skip if you don't need visual alternatives to audio cues.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Check if the mod requires EAC to be disabled if playing on a server with anti-cheat.
  • Test the visual indicators in a low-stakes area to get used to the new cues.
  • Adjust your UI scale if the indicators feel too large or small.
