📋 About This Mod
Shows you how much CPU time each of your installed mods is using.
Features
Press your bound key to bring up an overlay listing every mod, sorted by cost, colour-coded from light to heavy.
Tabs break it down by CPU, Memory, Stutters, and Loading.
There's a live 30-second graph, and you can export a full text report for sharing.
How it works
This mod measures Lua main-thread time only. It works by wrapping every other mod's hook handlers and per-frame update
functions with a timer, then subtracting nested mod calls so each mod is credited only for its own work.
What this means in practice
-
[]The numbers are relative. They're good for ranking mods against each other. They are not a scientific measurement of a mod's total cost.[/]
[]It cannot see GPU work. Darktide does not expose GPU or render-thread timing to mods. A mod that draws lots of effects, particles, or textures may show near-zero CPU here while hurting your frame rate.[/]
[]It cannot see engine C++ work. If a mod tells the game engine to spawn units or effects, the engine does that work in native code, invisible to any Lua profiler.[/]
[]Timing resolution is limited. Darktide's mod sandbox doesn't provide a high-resolution clock, so timings fall back to a ~1 ms timer. Averages over thousands of calls are still useful, but single-frame peaks and stutter blame are approximate.[/]
[]Stutter attribution is a heuristic. When a frame runs long, it makes an educated guess and blames whichever mod was using the most CPU during that frame.[/]
[]Hook coverage depends on load order. Make sure this mod loads first so it can hook the others. Any mod that loads before it has its hooks unmeasured.[/]
[]Every installed mod is measured. Mods that read the Lua call stack used to break when wrapped for timing. The monitor now hides its own stack frames, so they work normally. If that protection can't be verified at startup, nothing is measured and no data is collected.[/]
[]This mod costs a little itself. Measuring isn't free. It calibrates its own overhead at startup and subtracts it, but that correction is an estimate. You can toggle performance tracking in the options.[/]
Notes
[]These numbers are a starting point for your own troubleshooting, not evidence against a mod author. A mod at the top of this list may be doing exactly what you asked it to do, efficiently. If you think a mod is hurting your performance, test it the old-fashioned way: turn it off and see if your frames increase.[/]
