Description

This can best be described as "what if scope creep manifested as a HUD?" I originally intended to just steal the ammo counter display from Halo, because I always thought that was a really cool design, then it kinda just spiraled out from there into this. So now it's a whole ass HUD preset for use with HUD Studio!

Installation and Setup

This mod does nothing on its own. Since this is a preset built with HUD Studio, you will need to have that mod installed for this to work. While the load shouldn't matter, I would still recommend having this after HUD Studio just in case. Once HUD Studio is installed, installing this mod is the same as any other mod.

To get it as your HUD does have a few extra steps though. After installing both mods, open up the HUD editor menu within HUD Studio and navigate to the "Library" section. From there, there'll be a section labeled "Halo HUD at Home" which will contain all of the individual sections of the HUD for you to add as you wish. That way you can choose if you want the entire HUD, just part of it, or reposition elements to better suit your preferences.

If you want the Halo shield sound effects, you will also need to install Simple Audio. This is not a hard requirement, and if you don't want those sounds then there is a version built into the mod that doesn't have them.

HUD Sections

By the nature of this being built in HUD Studio, there's a selection of elements that you can pick and choose as to which ones you want, or just take them all (which is what I'd recommend, but I'm only a little biased)

++ Weapon Display and Ammo Counter ++

This is what started it all: an ammo counter pretty much ripped entirely from the original Halo games (though this one takes mostly from Halo Reach) featuring an individual bullet tracker that dynamically changes depending on equipped weapon, weapon swap animations, and even tracking melee and ranged overheat percentages. Is it easier to read than a number? No, but who needs that when you have style?

++ Health and Toughness ++

Taken right out of Halo: Combat Evolved, this does everything you need a health and toughness bar to do and looks extra fancy doing it! Complete with visual warning flashes when either resource is low, as well as a little treat for those with Simple Audio. The treat is Halo shield sound effects for low or broken toughness, regaining toughness, or acquiring golden toughness.

++ Crosshair Warnings ++

Find yourself losing track of important information while in the thick of everything? I don't blame you! While this may not be from Halo, I've aimed to keep it in around the same style, and this will display warnings for when you're running low on ammo, need to reload, when your ability is about to come off cooldown, etc.

++ Teammate Panels ++

It's all well and good to know your own details, but it's good to know the status of your allies as well. Luckily, this also has you covered! With simple and compact player panels that give you the essentials of what you need to know of their status: their health, toughness, ammo and blitz counts, name and class, if you're in coherency with them, and if they're on their last remaining wound.
