Hammer 2.2

ID - 5427 Christmas - 5423 A hammer is a small percussive hand tool used for hammering nails, breaking objects and other work. It is mainly made of steel. The hammer is one of the oldest tools used by a reasonable person. Currently, there are many varieties of hammers used in a variety of fields of activity. Various types of hammers are used by carpenters, joiners, locksmiths, shoemakers, electricians, builders, sculptors, geologists and many other workers and specialists, also a hammer is an indispensable item in a home tool kit. Wooden and metal hammers are also used in cooking (for example, for beating meat). Special types of hammers are used in medicine. The main part of the hammer is a compact mass of solid material, usually metal, which can be used to hit something and not significantly deform. For the convenience of the execution of blows and for a larger scope, the impact part of the hammer is mounted on a handle, which, as a rule, is made of wood, plastic, or metal. In the lower part of the handle, a hole is sometimes made for attaching a strap or for hanging the tool on the wall. The metal handle is usually covered with rubber, plastic, or a combination of the two. As the material of the wooden handle of the hammer, birch is most often used, less often beech, maple, hornbeam or other suitable wood species. Pine and oak are not usually used as a material for the handle, since pine is a fragile material that can lead to the hammer jumping off the handle and injury, and oak has excessive hardness, causing increased discomfort when working with the tool. The wood used for the handle must be pre-dried. After impaling the hammer on the handle, for better fastening, a wedge of metal or wood is driven into the upper part of the handle.
