The last vesitages of Humanity cling onto shores and coasts, into forests and mud: What was once a technologically advanced race, withered into a shadow of it's former self. Those who were born after The Great Sundering are ignorant of what Humanity had done before. Living in makeshift shelters, living with governments that struggle to keep things together, living with fresh water becoming ever so scarce for the 2nd time, living with the envoirmental fallout from the rapid climate change that rose the seas, and living ignorant of the past, the people now have no time to think about space: Only survival. Before the collaspe of humanity, humanity was in the process of collasping like this. With a surplus of technology, Mankind dared and ventured out to space to colonize the planets of their home system. People can only live in tin cans for so long. And that was when the purpose to sending out man, woman, and childeren out to space became of teraformation. Great projects on Mars, Venus, and the many moons of Jupiter and Saturn, aimed to change their envoirment to suit the needs of humanity. Powered by the newly constructed Dysphon Sphere. But mankind ran out of time. As the Earth was in total disarray, Colonial outposts on the Moon, Cities on Mars, and the Giant Floating bases of Venus, with their respective governments, and the United Nations on Earth, banded together despite Earth's abysmal state, to explore space even further and finish the terraformation of planets. Most planets targeted are either great cold oceans, or searing hot deserts. The terraforming of these planets in some aspects was a failure, but if they have oxygen and the atmosphere and the water to support life, it probably was a success.
