Hull Roll Stand on the bridge in a gale. The sea heaves, the horizon tilts, and the deck under your boots barely moves. A real Type VII took 7 to 8 seconds to roll over and back. Yours does it in under four and snaps upright like a cork. The waves are the right size; your hull answers them too fast to feel like a thousand tons of steel. What it does A hull rolls like a pendulum, and a pendulum's beat depends on how its weight is spread as much as on how hard it is pulled back. Hull Roll works on the spread: it measures your own hull's roll at sea and increases how much it resists turning about its own length, until the beat matches the real one. What you get A boat that rolls like a real submarine. Long swings that carry through and come back in their own time, instead of a cork snapping upright. Weather with a size to it. Your hull's beat is now near enough to the swell's for the sea to take hold of it, instead of racing along underneath. Heavy weather gets a grip on the boat it never had before. A heading worth thinking about. A sea on the beam rolls you hardest, and coming off the beam quiets it - the way a real crew steered a quartering sea rather than taking it broadside. That is a statement about roll and nothing else: this mod does not touch depth keeping, trim or the screws, so do not read it as advice to put the sea dead ahead. No setup. Six of the eight boats are corrected from the first minute of the first patrol, from measurements taken on those hulls and shipped with the mod. The rest measure themselves - about ten minutes on the surface in some weather - and remember it afterwards. Nothing left behind. Nothing reaches your save file. Install or remove it mid-patrol; remove it and your boat is stock again.
