Details: The MHST2050 Hybrid is a high-speed train that will be available from 2050 onwards after a long development phase. The main innovation is the adaption of gull-wing doors to train cars which facilitates faster boarding and alighting thus shortening the station dwell time. It also features an environment-friendly and forward-proof propulsion concept using traction motors on every Jacobs bogie. The power for these motors can come from 3 different sources this being hydrogen fuel cells, traction batteries, or conventional overhead line, the latter only for a transition period though due to the higher infrastructure cost. The traction batteries can also be charged via the fuel cells or the overhead line. As the main power source will be the fuel cells or the traction batteries the train will not need overhead lines in game and so therefore be placed under diesel multiple units.
