The Rust Belt with Industry

Welcome to the Rust Belt! The Rust Belt is a geographic region in the United States stretching from New York through the Midwest that was once involved primarily in steel production and manufacturing. The Rust Belt became an industrial hub due to its proximity to the Great Lakes, canals, rivers, and railways, which allowed companies to gain access to raw materials and ship out finished products. This meca has significantly declined in the past 50 years to to companies outsourcing work over seas, but still is a highly active industrial zone to this day! I spent over 60 hours working on this map in which it uses real NASA topographical data and personal experience. I’m a real world airline pilot and fly over this whole area often allowing me to form the terrain into one of the most possible accurate depictions and still keep the game playable. I also placed industries in their respective realworld locations like: the coal mines of PA, WV, and KY, Good production of NYC, Beer (Goods) in Milwauke and St. Louis, Ore mines of the Apalacian Mountains, machine factories of the midwest and more! Map has just over 30 Cities that all played a key role in the Rust Belt are included in this map!
