The design team had already made multiple tanks before tho most of them proved not very good, It was a miracle if one even moved. But by taking the chassis from the hydra they had something that atleast moves as a base. Designing the turret was pretty easy, only a few turrets turned into improvised artillery during armor testing. The design process went so quick that it was finished a lot quicker than the ATGM launcher but because the marketing/propaganda department wanted to release the ATGM earlier the MBT was delayed until after the ATGM launcher releases.
