Girls und Panzer is a 2012 anime in which schoolgirls compete in the sport of Sensha-dō tank battles. The series mixes action-packed combat, humor, and friendship, often playing with exaggerated stereotypes of various countries. The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy tank with a conspicuously large turret and a 152 mm gun, specifically designed for destroying bunkers. It saw action from 1940 onwards, including in the Winter War and at the beginning of World War II. It was very powerful, but slow and prone to breakdowns.
