Designation: Eclipse – Crash Industries Antimatter Kinetic Delivery Platform Purpose: Removal of enemy assets, infrastructure, and morale from extreme ranges. Built as a dedicated companion weapon to Melanite, this weapon takes the concept of “long range” and pushes it past the horizon, through the stratosphere, and into “are you sure that’s physically possible?” territory. The Eclipse fires a condensed antimatter slug encased in an inert stasis shell, accelerating it via magnetic linear rails to near-relativistic velocity. Impact results are not “explosions” in the conventional sense, but a localized event that causes surrounding matter to stop existing in a very permanent way. Due to the incredible recoil, the weapon requires a multi-ton stabilization frame and heat dissipation system rivaling those of small starships. It is not recommended for urban use, planetary atmospheres with delicate weather systems, or within the same hemisphere as allied forces.
