- LClick: Fire flak - Q: Lock turret LORE: The development of the earliest version of the Mb-AA01 Skully flak turret began back in the times of Duke Bald-Dove's crusade against all airships. What he envisioned was a simple way to protect Metalburg by taking down his targets without the need of launching biplanes to intercept them. But, after the Duke died, so did the constant paranoia around airships, and the Skully turrets were shelved. When the times of the Viridian War came, the project was revived. As the Metalburguese mercenaries gained territory from the forces of Viridis, their Minstrel squadrons were too overstretched with various offensive missions to deal with bomber interceptions, and protecting their newly established bases against air raids was a growing concern. The Skully quickly became the best solution for that problem. This turret model remained in service for many years after the end of the Viridian War, with some units still being operational in the Purge War, which means the Skully was one of the longest-serving pieces of military equipment in the Navy's arsenal, stretching from the era of biplanes all the way to the start of Metalburg's space expansion and the subsequent end of its history as a nation. - Brought to you by the Metalburg Bureau.
