- WASD: Drive LORE: During the Metalburguese occupation of Viridis, the mercenaries witnessed a sight that captivated them. It was a small vehicle, nimble and stylish, balanced on two wheels... but it wasn't a segway. As they learned from the Viridian locals, it was called a "motorcycle." They needed training wheels at first, but soon the men and women from Metalburg were riding Viridian motorcycles all across the oat fields. And of course, that new market opportunity didn't go unnoticed by the Metalburg Bureau. They shipped some of those captured vehicles back to Metalburg, where the Reverse Engineering division worked to create the first Metalburguese motorcycle: the Hog. Despite its simplicity, the Hog was designed with perfect balance, a trait that could only be attained by countless years of experience manufacturing segways. New riders needed no training wheels, and that greatly boosted the Hog's sales inside and outside of Metalburg. Years later, some of the best companies in the world (such as Stino Corporation and HELIOS) were inspired by the Hog's design to create their own perfectly balanced motorcycles. However, when the Bureau designed the Hog, they didn't realize the social conflict they were creating. Segways were an intrinsic part of Metalburguese culture, and many conservative groups in the Duchy considered the introduction of an "inferior two-wheeled thing" a blatant disrespect of their traditions. Sometimes, they used the term "hog rider" to refer pejoratively to people with contrarian tendencies. That feud stretched for many decades and persisted even after the destruction of Metalburg and the founding of the MEMENTO Club. - Brought to you by the Metalburg Bureau.
