Viridis, a vegan nation with wide fertile fields, was the world's top agricultural superpower and took special pride in its production of oats. And their greatest oat buyer was one of the most powerful international corporations in the world: Big Porridge. However, their relationship with Big Porridge had some major friction. Mostly, it was because Big Porridge's products were made using animal milk, and that was a major problem for Viridian farmers, executives, and political figures. The Viridian side kept pushing for an expansion of the vegan porridge market and incrementally raised the price of their oats as the Big Porridge shareholders refused to comply. Eventually, the hit on Big Porridge's earnings was so great, they decided to take a more drastic action. They hired mercenaries to take the oat farms from Viridis. Among the hired forces was the Metalburguese Navy. One of the vehicles Metalburg sent to Viridis was the Weevil, a light tank made in the shape of the Duchy's favorite vehicle: the segway. It was equipped with a flamethrower, and it was used to burn down the Viridian farms... It turns out, Big Porridge didn't plan to take over the oat production at all. All they wanted was to show dominance. They destroyed the Viridian farms out of pure spite and then filled the scorched fields with landmines. - Brought to you by the Metalburg Bureau.
