It was a formidable weapon in combat, but its usage decreased as the Duke's pockets got lighter and lighter. Most Sunbursts had already been deactivated by the beginning of the Purge War because of their pricey maintenance, and their parts were scrapped for the production of its downgraded successor, the Mb-65 Huntress. However, one Sunburst survived the events of the Purge and was found by the MEMENTO Club's expedition many years later. It was restored and used as an exhibition piece in the Museum of Metalburguese History in Chirplanet until the Great Mutiny happened, and the plane was forced to see action one last time against the multiple Mb-X68 Diplocaulus II bombers stolen by the mutineers. It was the only plane that could stand a chance against the traitors, but, unfortunately, the airframe showed its age and disintegrated when it broke the sound barrier. - Brought to you by the Metalburg Bureau.
