- WAD: Move - T: Toggle gallop LORE: Finally, the MEMENTO probes arrived to their first destination, the planet now named Vertex 2. But their transmissions were cut shortly after they landed, and the little intel they sent was confusing at best, and worrisome at worst. They recorded images of the ruins of a long-gone civilization before being destroyed by hostile wildlife. That meant that if there was a doom prophecy to be stopped there, it was too late. But that wasn't the troubling part of it. When Chirpos viewed the footage, they were flabbergasted: the ruins were ancient Chirpo architecture, and the beasts that attacked the probes seemed to be a myth from Chirpo folklore: Chirpogriffs. Those creatures were things of old legends, violent towards anything different to them, but saw Chirpos as their own kin. Chirpokind was now faced with the shocking possibility that their fairytales were, in truth, pieces of their own lost past in a faraway world. They begged MEMENTO to go there to find out more, but advised them to ride robotic Chirpogriff replicas so they wouldn't be attacked. So MEMENTO expanded their expedition to Vertex 2.
