You don't have to brake in any corners, but you need to turn at the correct angle of the race track precisely. Press Q to unlock the top speed limit. The Q button will disable the downforce system, and the car will lose control if you turn sharply (I do not recommend pressing Q while racing, but it's okay for straight-line driving).
