(toggle) LORE: With a new motivation to find Meaning, the aging survivors of the Purge of Metalburg repurposed the AI built into their Robosheep, modifying their bodies into mounts. They rode across the Galaxy's worlds, searching for new purpose with their own eyes. They met all kinds of people on their travels, and some were friendly. The old Metalburguese shared the tale of their lost home with them. They told of a small nation, rich with cursed metal and founded by Pirates who wanted to profit from it. Then zealot Vikings arrived to stop a Prophecy of doom related to the metal. But, generations later, their religion was muted, and greed prevailed. The nation prospered and won many wars. But there was a war they couldn't win. Greed pushed them too far, and a Giant beast fulfilled the Prophecy. Now they wandered across space, homeless and meaningless. And it became a cautionary tale for all the peoples of the Galaxy. With time, many joined them in retelling that story. Thus, the "Metalburg's Memories are Never Torn" Club, or MEMENTO Club for short, was established. - Brought to you by The Metalburg Bureau™.
