Umbra lacked stability and pitch control in thrust vectoring mode. Even with these flaws, the designers decided after a lot of doubting that it was best to release this experimental jet to the public, maybe it could still inspire other companies starting up or help armies in some way, after all Pixl avionics was still a new player on the market, they needed every penny they could get.
