📋 About This Mod
This mod can automatically perform experiments to measure the lift and drag of ingame parts. This answers questions like: What angle should you set your control surfaces to for maximum effect? Which wing provides better lift-to-weight? Which wing has less drag? This mod is shipped with some tables and graphs I made previously. Each graph shows the force PER 1 WING. They are at steamapps\workshop\content\585420\3014274458\data_static. I give the data in kilograms-force, meaning "enough force to lift 1 kilogram of weight with the default 14m/s^2 gravity in trailmakers". Findings include: Modular wings cannot provide downforce at 50kmh regardless of angle. Extending flap wings is the same as rotating the whole wing. Simple tail fins have less drag than tail fins. Long Helicopter Blades don't actually produce lift when moving sideways so i dunno how they work on helicopter engines. -------------------- HOW TO USE MOD ------------------------------- 1. hit f4 to get mouse cursor outside of buildmode, so that you can hit buttons in the mod menu. 2. Create a testbed. The player must be in the center of mass of the testbed, because the mod tracks the player to know where the craft is. I use a gokart seat with some blocks on all 4 sides. 3. go into build mode, and hit "set all current parts drag to 0". There'll be zero confirmation, but you can test it by flying a plane or running this mod. If any parts break on your craft, and you repair it, then that'll reset the drag, so you'll need to rezero it. 4. Attach the wings you want to test to your testbed. Use at least a 1 block spacing, because objects touching the wings will block their aerodynamics. More wings is useful for measuring at low speeds with low lift force, but too many wings might make the craft hard to stabilize. 5. Leave build mode, hop into your craft. You have to be in the craft because the mod tracks the player position to know where the craft is. 6. set the testing options. Here are some notes: If you set th
