In one such mission, a castle was to be bombed, but when the Cor-Airs approached, they were met with a never-before-seen invention: biplanes. The agile machines shot the flying boats down. The Bureau was then tasked with engineering their own biplane to protect the Cors-Air bombers, but every proposed design lacked the needed range. It kept the engineers awake for many nights until one of them, the sleepy Reimar Dunne, dreamed of a tailess plane with wings like ship sails, floating draglessly to its far-away destination like a kite.
