Land Rover - Defender 90 (Stage1)

The Land Rover Defender is an off-road 4x4 vehicle, built from 1948 to 2016. After the war, Rover, usually engaged in the production of luxury cars, was forced to build cheaper vehicles to make exports easier in those difficult years. The company reacted by building a totally different vehicle: the Land Rover off-road vehicle, with a new body but with the engine of the previous cars. The first vehicle, called the Land Rover, was designed by Maurice Wilks in 1947 in England, inspired by the Jeeps used by the Americans during World War II. For this reason, the first model made was based precisely on a Jeep structure. The basic feature since the first model launched in Amsterdam on April 30, 1948 was the four-wheel drive which allowed these vehicles to tackle even very rough terrain. Another basic feature was the aluminum bodywork, less exposed to corrosion and, at the time, not subject to quotas by the British government. The result of all this is a family of vehicles that has made the history of off-road vehicles and which, at the beginning of the seventies, exceeded one million cars built, both for civilian and military customers. In fact, from the early years, the British military forces adopted the Land Rovers, alongside the Austin Champ. From 1978, the year of the nationalization of British Leyland (which had acquired the Rover brand in 1967), the name of the famous vehicle also became that of a separate car manufacturer, Land Rover. The company, after several changes of ownership, became part of the Tata Group in 2008. The Land Rover was produced in several series, initially also indicated by the wheelbase measurement in inches. The "Land Rover" vehicle (90, 110 and 127) has been called "Defender" since 1990 Today SuicideGarage presents the Defender 90 V8 (Stage1) First level of customization designed for those who want a solid and reliable vehicle.
