Warhammer3DLSS

Description

Enables Total War: WARHAMMER III???s native Direct3D 11 DLSS path. It corrects the partially implemented rendering pipeline when DLSS mode is enabled.

Installation

• []Download Warhammer3DLSS.zip and extract dinput8.dll and wh3_dlss.ini into the directory containing Warhammer3.exe.

  The default Steam installation directory is:

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War WARHAMMER III\[/]

  []Download the NVIDIA DLSS DLL from TechPowerUp and place nvngx_dlss.dll in the same directory.[/]

  []In the game settings, keep Anti-Aliasing set to TAA or TAA High.[/]

  []Disable sharpening in the game settings. It is unnecessary and too strong. You can use sharpening through the driver instead[/]

Configuration

Edit wh3_dlss.ini beside the DLL and restart the game after making changes. The default profile is:

repair_tactical_ui=true

The mode setting selects the DLSS mode:

DLSS model / preset

The model setting selects the DLSS preset:

• []auto: Let NVIDIA driver choose the appropriate preset.[/]

  []J  : Force DLSS preset J; alternative variant of K[/]

  []K  : Force DLSS preset K; recommended for cards older than RTX 40 series[/]

  []L  : Force DLSS preset L; recommended for RTX 40 Series and newer. Best quality[/]

  []M  : Force DLSS preset M; recommended for RTX 40 Series and newer. 2nd best quality after L, slightly more performant[/]

If using RTX 40 or 50 I would just select M or L

wh3_dlss.log stores logs for the latest run. A successful run should have 'DLSS initialized' in the logs.

AMD and Intel graphics cards

To use AMD FSR or Intel XeSS, install and configure OptiScaler after placing the DLSS DLL.

Known issues

• []Changing the game resolution may result in a black screen. Restarting the game should resolve the issue.[/]

  Uninstallation

  Remove d3d8.dll You may want to set resolution scale setting back to 100%, the game overwrites this when running with dlss
