We have discovered the ruins of a long-extinct civilization. This former city lies within a basin of "Gipskeuper"—a rock layer that swells upon contact with water. If we settle here, we will face massive problems, for this seemingly unfinished construction site represents a ticking time bomb. Were we not currently running low on supplies, we ought to abandon this accursed place to nature; unfortunately, however, we do not have that choice. Let us make the best of it.
