Sell Lock

Description

SellLock stops you from accidentally selling the items you care about. At a vendor, any item that is favorited or has the yellow glow (Unique) icon is greyed out in the sell list and can't be selected or sold. Everything else sells exactly as normal.

It only changes the vendor sell list. It doesn't touch your save or your inventory, so it's safe to install or remove at any time.

Installation instructions

Make sure UE4SS is already installed and working for The Outer Worlds 2 (see Requirements).

1. Install the mod through Vortex (Mod Manager Download, or drag the zip into Vortex).

2. Enable the mod and click Deploy.

3. Launch the game. Open a vendor's trade screen and go to the sell tab. Your favorited and yellow-glow items will be greyed out.

1. Unzip the download.

2. Copy the SellLock folder into ...\The Outer Worlds 2\Arkansas\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\

3. You should end up with Mods\SellLock\Scripts\main.lua and Mods\SellLock\enabled.txt.

4. Launch the game.

To uninstall, delete the Mods\SellLock folder (or remove the mod in Vortex).

Optional settings: open Scripts\main.lua in a text editor. At the top, BLOCK_FAVORITES and BLOCK_UNIQUE can each be set to false to turn that rule off.

Main features

- Blocks selling of favorited items

- Blocks selling of yellow-glow (Unique) items

- Only affects the vendor sell list. Equipping, junking, dropping and crafting all work normally

- Never changes your save or inventory data

- Each rule can be switched on or off in a settings block at the top of the script

- Lightweight: it only does anything while a vendor screen is open

- The game's "Sell All Junk" button will still sell your favorited or unique items if they were tagged as junk.

- If a game update changes the vendor screen, the mod will simply stop protecting items. It never blocks anything it can't identify.
