Less Useless Engineering

This is meant to be an alternative to Engineering Skills Buffed (ESB), by Marzoopilami.

I.e. Use one or the other!

ESB is a little too overpowered for my liking, whilst the vanilla benefits are near-shite.

The three main changes from ESB are:

• []Magnitude of skill unlocks have been diminished somewhat in their effects:

  []Engineering 40 gives a 50% chance to get a Basic Mod (instead of 60%)

  []Engineering 60 gives a 50% chance to repair something to Pristine (instead of 90%)

  []Engineering 80 gives a 25% chance to extract a Rare mod (instead of 90%)

  []Engineering 100 gives a +50% damage boost against robots (instead of +80%)

[]The High Maintenance perk now reduces equipment degradation by 50%, instead of only 25% in vanilla

[]Offers a variant for the OG version of the game.

Installation

Like any other mod for this game, drop this into your root The Outer Worlds installation location.

After doing that, you should have the following file structure (Steam as an example):

Steam\steamapps\common\The Outer Worlds( SCE)\Indiana\Content\Paks\~mods\zz_Better_Engineering_SCE.pak

There's a compatibility patch for Less Ridiculous Tinkering on its mod page.

Edits the following sets of files:
