TLOU2 - Save Backup Utility

Features:

- Detects Steam User ID and creates a backup for that User ID, allowing for multi Steam account backups.

- Backups Save Files

- Can create multiple backups

- Restores saves from a list of existing backups, with dates

- Asks if you want to overwrite the current save files, if they exist

- Can create a shortcut on the Desktop and Start Menu for easy access to save files

- When uninstalling, it will not remove the existing backup files, only the shortcuts to the backup folder, this is to prevent mistakes such as losing save backups.

- Can Rename Backups

- Can Delete Backups

- Option to open Backup Folder at the end of the procedure (Backup, Restore, or both) - (version 2026. 01. 09. 2148+)

- Detects if the game is running to help prevent corrupt saved data from the game being open (unlikely to happen but possible), can still backup

- Cannot restore backups if the game is running, to prevent data corruption

- Auto-Backup is created for current save data before restoring a backup

- Multi Steam account support, Backups will be named after User ID (" Backup_XXXXXX")

- Buttons to access Backup and Save data from within the tool (version 2026. 01. 26. 1237+)

Installation:

There is no install (only backing up and restoring save files), run the application everytime you want to backup or restore save files.

Usage:

- The tool will detect if the game is running, you are still able to Backup save data with the game running, but not restore, to prevent

corruption the tool does not allow to restore save data while the game is running.

- When restoring save files, a backup of current save data is automatically created, the new backup will be named accordingly to help identify it.

- When renaming the backups with the tool, it will retain User ID, "Backup_" and for Backups created from Auto-Backup when using restore will retain "Pre-Restore Backup".

- No limit to amount of backups.

- At the end screen, there is a button to open the Backups folder for easy access.

- For Multi Steam accounts, the Backups will be named after the User ID, example: " Backup_", if renaming the backup with the

tool, it will retain the User ID in the backup name. You need to rely on the User ID to restore to the right account if you use multiple accounts, however a safety backup is always created automatically before restoring anything.

Notes:

The reason I've decided to include a # in "#Video Game Saves" is so that windows sorting shows this folder at the top.

Issues:

- If the save folder is empty and you attempt to restore a backup, the backup is restored and a backup folder of Pre-Restore is also created, but the Backup folder will be empty, however the restore will work just fine.
